The Royal Signals was founded in 1920 and used a mixture of old WW1 stock and brand new vehicles.

The solid wheeled Trucks from WW-1 continued to be used, but were now supplemented with Luxury vehicles like the Ford Model T with padded seats and Pneumatic Tyres

In 1935 the original WW1 sheds and bedsteads were fitted onto Military pattern Morris Commercials and shadow factory made alternative vehicles.

Later the same “Sheds” less their bedsteads were clad with thin metal sheeting and became a standard that was still being used up to the mid 1980s

Note “Aircraft Window” and canvas doors as “improvements” on the WW1 open cab. Also the Long wave fold back loop wiring of the Antenna.

The radio body used was created to be able to fit onto a gun carriage and so had an odd shape. It also had an ability to open the side canvas, fold out two metal frames and then dropping the side wall it became a desk where officers could (standing outside) pour over maps, receive reports, give commands and enjoy the rations and tea of the poor crew...

The GS version however used a more spacious “normal” body tray and only the wheel arches ate into that space.

Below the Fordson (Ford UK) and also the Chevrolet UK “Bedford Version” (Also badged as Chevrolet up till the merger of Bedford into GM) of the Morris CS8 Bedford WTH series, Introduced 1934 to 1940 (in use until mid 1950s) Other makers (such as Guy, Humber, Commer, etc.) made similar models to WD specs.

The Fordson WOT2H 15 c.w.t. truck version looks virtually identical except for
different vents in the Bonnet side grills and only in a 2x4 or 4x6 drive version.
