Armoured Tracked Vehicles...
This page will contain details of various Armoured tracked vehicles
WW1 Wireless Tanks
These WW1 have only just been retired from the Royal Signals after nearly 100 years of good service. (Military Budget cuts keep old equipment so long in service that they are preserved for Museums later when retired... lol)

These 1960s vehicles are still in use today, and in 2005 I got to ride in one (Courtesy of the 1st (UK) Armd Div HQ & SIgs Regt, Herford) when The Herforder Association visited Herford and was allowed to play with the life-sized toys... (the drawing below contains elements of Pictures made at that time from 02 EE 21.

Modifications to the old 432 include adding additional external cladding called “UpArmour” of both type 1 and the now later used Type 2. When fitted with Up Armour Type 2, the vehicle is renamed “Bulldog!”

The Alvis “S” Series.

I put the FV 107 out of sequence so a direct comparison to the FV 101 can be made.
Also I made a “Light Scrim” Camouflaged and weathered copy (more or less as they look on the road), to see what it looks like, but feel for this sequence “Clean” or “As new” vehicles may be better?

The Scorpion is now long struck off, however variants such as Sultan are still on strength. They will be replaced by the new Stormer which is essentially the same vehicle base but made longer and having an extra ground wheel. In the Stormer, regardless of the role, the vehicle is kept as identical as possible and so all use the FV 1600 Number.

Compare the Stormer and its high aerial mast (not yet fully extended) with the WW1 tank shown above and you will see we have not really come far in nearly 100 years...
